The Waterford Food Manifesto states the vision and ambition of the community and food producers in the Waterford Bioregion. The manifesto was co-written by 35 citizens of the Waterford Bioregion as part of a process facilitated by the Bioregional Weaving Lab (BWL) Collective in collaboration with Ashoka, Commonland and GIY (Grow it Yourself).

The BWL Collective is a growing alliance of system-changing organisations that are weaving together critical actors across Europe for a shared purpose and to bring about systemic change. Special thanks go to Ray McGrath and Dr Will Buckingham, both key collaborators in creating the manifesto.

Ray McGrath is a local community member who comes from a fishing family and lives in Cheekpoint (County Waterford, Ireland), where the tides ebb and flow. He wants his children to enjoy the taste of wild salmon and other nutritious food, naturally sourced.

Dr. Will Buckingham is a philosopher and writer. He co-directs Wind&Bones, a social enterprise exploring the meeting places of writing, creativity and social change. Find Wind&Bones on Twitter (@windandbones) and Instagram (@windandboneswriting).
